Digital tools
Tools that already work, adapted for active mobility and cancer prevention
DynamiCity does not start from scratch. The project draws on a set of proven tools and methodologies, already tested in previous research and real-world settings, and adapts, scales and connects them to make walking, cycling and micro-mobility work for cancer prevention. From planning bike networks to training health professionals, each tool tackles a different piece of the puzzle: behaviour change, infrastructure, digital connectivity or capacity building.
FlexBike
A planning tool that identifies the best locations for bike-sharing stations, using open spatial data on street layout, slope and accessibility. In DynamiCity, it will also prioritise proximity to healthcare facilities and low-pollution routes.
Certified Training for Holistic Cancer Support
A train-the-trainer programme equipping health and outdoor professionals with the skills to safely support cancer patients and survivors in physical activity.
Tailored Behavioural Interventions Toolkit
A practical framework, based on the “implementation intentions” approach, that helps people turn the intention to walk or cycle more into lasting habits.
BECOME
A personalised, gamified app that combines activity data and surveys to give tailored recommendations on movement, wellbeing and healthy habits, now adapted for everyday urban mobility.
Cycle Nation
A proven nine-week “couch to bike” programme that combines bike loans, training and group rides to help people start cycling and keep going.
Lane Patrol
A smartphone app that scans cycling infrastructure to assess quality and safety, helping cities prioritise where to invest in maintenance and upgrades.
Sidewalk Inspection Methodology
A field methodology, using sensor-equipped wheelchairs, to measure how even, safe and accessible city sidewalks really are, especially for people with reduced mobility.
Gamified health app
A citizen engagement app, building on the Synair-G project, that collects health and mobility data while offering feedback and rewards to encourage active travel.
Bikebus & Pedibus Support App
A digital platform that helps organise and monitor group walking and cycling routes to school, with route planning and parental notifications.
Bike Urbanism Masterclass
A hands-on training programme for city planners and decision-makers, sharing a decade of experience from Copenhagen and Paris on cycling infrastructure and tactical urbanism.
C-ITS for active mobility and health
A set of connected tools, smart traffic lights, route planners and mobility-health apps, that make walking, cycling and micro-mobility safer and more efficient.
