BYCS is an independent NGO based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, working to accelerate cycling as a tool for social, health and economic transformation in cities worldwide. For the past decade, BYCS has developed and delivered programmes with local partners across every continent, focusing on the communities who stand to gain the most from cycling but who cycling investment most often misses — particularly women and children in low-income urban areas. BYCS coordinates the Bicycle Mayor Network, a global network of more than 160 independent, locally-appointed cycling advocates who lead grassroots change in their own cities. Through our research, practical programmes with local partners and a global network of city leaders, we create the conditions that allow cycling to thrive.
