The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a mission-driven Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) that turns scientific knowledge into technologies, tools and services with a tangible economic, environmental and societal impact. LIST brings together around 600 staff from a wide range of international backgrounds, three quarters of whom are researchers and innovation specialists, working across three departments dedicated to Environment, Materials and Informatics.
Its IT for Innovative Services department combines expertise in data science and artificial intelligence, digital health, connected sensing and human-centred digital services, and works closely with public authorities and companies to design, prototype and validate digital solutions in real-world settings..
Organisation role in the consortium
Within DynamiCity, LIST acts as the scientific and technological partner of the Luxembourg demonstrator, working alongside the City of Differdange. Drawing on its expertise in data science, artificial intelligence, connected sensing and wearable devices, LIST develops and adapts the digital tools that encourage citizens to walk and cycle more, and brings together mobility, environmental and health data to better understand how people move and how the interventions affect their wellbeing.
LIST also contributes to the scientific evaluation of the interventions and to the transfer of the project’s results, helping to translate the evidence generated in Differdange into approaches that other cities and regions can integrate..
