DynamiCity, a new Horizon Europe project, has officially started, bringing together 27 partners and 9 associated partners from 18 countries to explore how walking, cycling and micro-mobility can become part of daily life in European cities, while building solid evidence on how active travel supports cancer prevention and survivorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is coordinated by the Catalan technology centre Eurecat<\/a> and brings together research institutions, hospitals, public administrations, cities and companies working across health, digital innovation and urban planning. Over the next three years, DynamiCity will run real-world demonstrators in 12 European cities, six of which will test new interventions directly while six others will follow and adapt what works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consortium’s goals are ambitious: a 15% reduction in transport-related greenhouse gas emissions and a 30% increase in walking and cycling in the six follower cities. To get there, DynamiCity will combine digital tools, smarter infrastructure and public space design, and people-centred interventions to help citizens, patients and cancer survivors build active travel into their routines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results from the project will feed into EU policy, including Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, the EU Cancer Mission, the Cities Mission and the EU Cycling Declaration, helping shape how European cities plan mobility and public health together in the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
