The province of Overijssel is situated in the eastern part of the Netherlands and has 1.2 million inhabitants. Overijssel has been the leadpartner of the succesfull Interreg NSR projects BITS and MegaBITS, because its belief in the added value of smart cycling to the important policy topic of cycling as part of active mobility. By getting more bike data through technical solutions and more smart implementations for policy makers and cyclists, cycling gets part of smart and connected mobility. This will help to integrate the different mobility modes and make cycling more save and attractive. .
Organisation role in the consortium
As an associated partner Overijssel will, together with Mobycon, help the consortium with how to use smart cycling in their cities and regions. But Overijssel will also use the insights and outcomes of Dynamicity for advocating smart cycling in European policy and funding through networks like POLIS.
